The show is organised by the UK's leading media and events company dmg events (mea) Ltd. every two years and is currently the only specialist show for coatings in Saudi Arabia, radiating across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Market Background
The Saudi cabinet adopted the Vision 2030 strategic plan and the National Transformation Plan 2020 in 2016, with the explicit development goal of "de-oilization and economic diversification. The policy will involve the development of some 80 commercial and infrastructure projects worth $1.4 trillion. One of these projects is a $500 billion mega-city and tourism smart city in NEOM in northwest Saudi Arabia. The super new city is adjacent to the Red Sea and Gulf of Aqaba, across the sea from Jordan and Egypt, which will create opportunities for the development of the Saudi paint industry. Saudi Arabia unveiled its trillion-dollar National Investment Strategy (NIS) to the public on October 11, 2021, as a key initiative to advance Vision 2030. Over the next decade, the Saudi government, businesses, and private consumption will collectively build a huge investment of 27 trillion riyals (approximately USD 7.2 trillion) for domestic economic development, which is expected to generate strong demand for the coatings and paints market. Moreover, the decorative coatings market in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is expected to grow from USD 5,704 million in 2020 to USD 8,021 million by 2028, with the market projected to grow at a CAGR of 4.4% from 2020 to 2028.
