NSC is organized by the National Safety Council, a non-profit organization of the United States, under the federal Congress, which aims to protect people's safety by working with business practices, government agencies and public institutions to prevent human injuries and fatalities in the course of production and life. According to SHOWGUIDE research, the show also hosts academic seminars, which began in 1913.
